Our tradition has been for all the family to gather at our house on Christmas Eve. We have a buffet dinner and the grandkids open their gifts from grandpa & grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Last night, three of our Elders came over for dinner, Elders Coffin, Weatherson (both from Texas) & Elder Hall from Michigan. They didn’t stay long because they had other homes to visit, but we enjoyed their company and Elder Weatherston left us with a thought about gifts of the Spirit and quoted Samuel the Lamanite from the Book of Mormon. Steve, Becky and their kids joined us before the elders left. Jennifer showed up for a few minutes on her way to work to drop off some gifts. Tim was already at work and I sent her off with our gifts to them and some Tamale Pie, bowls and spoons.
Kevin and Christin made it from Green River, Wyoming, but they were worn out from their 8 ½ hr drive, so will be over this morning. They are staying at Christin’s parents’ home, Steve & Patty Cluff. A huge storm blew in and we had blowing snow most of the evening. But it warmed up through the night and some melted off. I am seeing a few flakes fluttering down as I write this.
We will go to Steve & Becky’s at 1:00 today for a nice dinner, then be back home before 5:00. We will all get together and await Alan’s phone call from Aiken, GA where he is currently serving. Merry Christmas to all!
